Gritty, nuanced, and totally uncomfortable, this is a post-apoc tale that covers all the angles, pre-apoc and during-apoc, internal and external, with lines of social commentary that volleys between familiar likelihood and crank conspiracy theory, from the outsider perspective of the nerdy sociopath that drives these kinds of stories. Is it possible that Bear's Blood Music is the failed wannabe of this book?
