Well that was pretty stunning. Stunning for many reasons, the main one being how much I enjoyed it given that really relatively little really happened. It was a joy spending time with these characters, major events happened between characters but you did not feel short changed.
My favourite story lines were brienne's and cersei's. Cersei is turning into a veritable lady Macbeth, the sympathy I cosseted for her in the last two books has been torn asunder in this book.
I'm fascinated to see how the stories told in a feast for crows are going to mesh with those in a dance of dragons which martin's own admission is really just part of one big story that had to be winnowed out from this book.
