The War of the Worlds

More than just an alien invader story, Wells sets his critical eye on colonialism, religion, technological superiority, and mob mentality. While there really is no war in the narrative, the actual war is Wells taking on Social Darwinism, while illustrating the need for a different kind of social evolution.
