I read this novel third in my rereading of the Narnia series as an adult. I listened to it as an audio book read by Lynn Redgrave. It was well read and easy to understand with good voice characterization. I enjoyed the aspects of the novel relating to the difference in the speed of time between the two universes. This novel dragged for me at times and did not have as much humor as The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe or the Magician's Nephew. The final quarter of the book was entertaining, but the set up was likely too slow for children and not rich enough in plot for adults. Definitely a necessary read though if you are planning to read the later novels in the series.
