City

In City, the house and the robot connect a set of short stories to make a novel. The Webster house is in a nice quiet little neighborhood that is slowly depopulating. The humans who live in the house have bred sentient dogs and soon only dogs are left on Earth with their robot companion, Jenkins. This collection is told primarily from the dogs' point of view and is quite enjoyable, as is typical of Simak's work.
