I throughly enjoyed this book. It had a nice structure, enough surprises to keep me interested and credible characters (especially Sam, the roommate, and Zacharov, the crime boss). I also found interesting the idea of world where workers (ie people with magical powers) are banned from using their skills. This is no high fantasy but urban fantasy, where everyday world & fantasy elements intermingle.
