I enjoyed this one most of the way through, but found the explanation quite unsatisfying.
I love the title, I have to say. Some titles just seem to appeal to me for reasons I can't easily explain (rhythm?), and this is one of them.
The story is about the battered and twisted survivors of an eco-catastrophe trying to rebuild the human race by going back in time and kidnapping children. In a parallel strand, set before the catastrophe, we see an investigation into the childrens' disappearances.
It's an interesting premise, and an enjoyable short read, but slightly let down at the end.
