An intelligent, challenging, emotional novel. Fully developed characters and world, Russell deftly unveils the story slowly while still maintaining good pacing. While an interesting contemplation of faith and purpose, it also really captures how first contract with a truly alien species might go. If you're looking for something thought-provoking, with a lot of heart and depth, pick this book up.
