A Game of Thrones

Horrible people doing horrible things for many, many pages. There were no characters I wanted to root for, none I particularly liked, and no reason to keep reading other than to see what all the fuss is about. Wish I hadn't finished it. This is the nasty reality TV of written fiction. I felt ugly and dirty after reading it. The only thing this could possibly do for a reader is make him/her feel better about his/her life after reading this. I want those hours of my life back. For those who say I have to keep reading to get to the 'good parts', my reading list is way too long to waste thousands more pages on a series that I hated the first book of.
