Eoin Colfer is no Douglas Adams.
That said, this was way better than the last Hitchhikers book, Mostly Harmless, which was written by Adams, so I have no problem including it in the series.
It was a fun romp with familiar characters. The main problem I had with it was a slight tonal shift. Adams on the whole avoided curse words, except those made up by him. In this book, I read the word "arse" so many times, my eye started to twitch. Seriously, I have no problems with foul language, but it's in there enough to bother me. I'm not sure why.
Still, I enjoyed the book overall, and as I said, this makes for a more satisfying closer than Mostly Harmless did, which is to say, none at all.
