Mockingjay is slow starting like Catching Fire but once it heats up (pun intended) it is as page turning as the other two novels in the series. People pretend this book is a downgrade from the other two but I'm afraid I have to disagree; I think you get to know Katniss intimately even if she's a questionable person and she should pick a dude to love faster because she's so deep you can't help but enjoy it. She annoyed me at times, but it all fit her, this was a character-driven series, and I can't stop complimenting that. I also forgot a lot about this one, so it felt a lot newer than the other two did especially the first one. Katniss goes crazy in this one, and it's perfectly done.
Because the start was slower it can't be a perfect five, but this is by no means a flop.
There are more than a dozen reasons this series is the second most famous series of all time.
- Who are you a pawn to? Is it always a bad thing to be used?
- How much could you withstand while staying sane?
- What are the best safeguards a society can implement to stop a government like this from forming?
