This was a great read. I would have to place it in my top 5 vampire books along with 'Salems lot, Let the Right One In, Live girls and Dracula (not in any order). That is a great achievement. I have read more than a few vampire books. This book is told from the view of a 14 year old who was "turned" as punishment. He is a somewhat typical 14 year old, He loves pop culture, music, clothes and sex. He also has some morals. I love the description of "charming". This book does not lead you where you think it will. I hate books that I figure out early. This has some twists that will make you say, "WTF"!
There are no "sparkly" vampires here, just ones that will rip your head off as soon as look at you. Can you really see the person beside you on the bus or walking down the street for who they really are? Sort of makes you wonder, "What is out there"?
