I've read a LOT of King's works and while this one is not one of, say, his top five, it is still a very good novel. It's very immersive, so despite its 736 pages, it moves along pretty quickly, like many of his books. The pacing is slower in the first half, but it never drags. The story just gradually unfolds, like a good ghost story should, with twists and turns and surprises. I'm very glad I finally read it and would recommend it to others.
