The Nebula Awards shortlist in this particular year seem to have been rife with stories featuring selfish, self-absorbed, misogynistic men for whom women were mere accessories, rather than human beings of equal worth. This is another example of a story which were much lauded back when it was released having aged really, really badly. Not recommended.
