Interesting, but flawed, and with some pacing problems
There is an interesting setup here, and a lot of ideas with potential. The beginning starts off with some good action and suspense... and then the book starts to bog down a bit. It seems as though the author was never really able to -- or forgot to -- tie into the potential of a lot of the ideas, and those ended up being the equivalent of dangling participles of plot.
The protagonist is an unabashed a**hole, and he never seems to really learn or grow much as a person; after a while, this gets rather tiresome.
Eventually, the book pretty much meanders completely off-course, and the ending is a disappointment. I wish I could have read the book which this had the potential to be. I do have to say that the graphic embellishments really enhance the novel.
