The future technology in this novel, the mind-induced teleporting called "jaunting" is rather fantastic than-science-based and sets the background for a psychological story. It is about the empowerment of gulliver foyle from a socially underrated nobody to demigod status, driven by revenge for an injustice he recieved. It is not an all positive story though, foyle is ruthless and does not hesitate to destroy the lives of innocents, be it for the purpose of his revenge or just because he can with the powers he gains throughout the novel. you will learn about his beginnings, developement, actions and self-reflections from nobody to monster to wise man to demigod.
