Earth Abides

Good novel, although it does show its age here and there. The apocalypse itself is quite good. The lack of people is rather strange, everyone seems to die in the hospital and then they get neatly buried in mass-graves, the highways are all just empty. Apparently nobody dies in their car or on the road to somewhere. And then there is the rebuilding of society (or the lack thereof). The Tribe still eats canned food after 21 years, I know that they can last long, but that seems like a stretch. And even at the end of the novel (which is an unspecified number of years later, but let's say another 20) they still open a can of salmon... Apart from that I think that everyone with a liking of apocalyptic fiction should read this one.
