Synopsis
Driving twenty-six miles of tunnel beneath the English Channel was a bold undertaking for Europe on the edge of war. The tunnel promised to be the proudest engineering coup in British history--and threatened to end Germany's dream of imperial conquest.
For the chief of the project, the tunnel meant uprooting a dangerous band of saboteurs composed of German agents and Irish revolutionaries. For a German military attache operating from his London embassy, it meant carrying out a mission of destruction. And for a young Lord of the Admiralty named Winston Churchhill, it meant one desperate chnace to salvage victory from the growing specter of defeat.
