With the addition of the Aurealis Awards to the site this seemed like a no-brainer!  There are four sweet reading levels that are so irresistible I named them after Australian candies:  Tim Tam (3), Cherry Ripe (6), Violet Crumble (9), and Turkish Delight (12).  Who's with me?

Location: New Zealand		Well, me, obviously. I couldn't resist. I have so many books by Australian authors that I haven't read but keep meaning to. Although I think you've got your level names a bit wrong. Surely Tim Tams should be the highest level? Way better than Turkish Delight.

Turkish Delight isn't exclusively Australian either. My parents would get some every Christmas in England and it is actually of Middle Eastern origin.

Heh.  I have to admit I've never tried any of the candy on the list.  I did a Google search and came up with that list.  I'll move Tim Tams to the top and replace Turkish Delight since it's not purely Australian but you guys gotta give me a replacement.

I read Nylon Angel by Marianne de Pierres some years ago and really liked it. I'd like to read more of her books but that's way down on the list of other priorities.

Location: New Zealand		Finished! That took care of a few books that have been hanging around on my shelves for quite some time. My favourites were Dreamer's Pool and The Rook. I expected to like Dreamer's Pool because I have read a lot of Juliet Marrillier and she has never disappointed. The Rook was a surprise in how much I enjoyed it and how fun it was.

Now I'm off to the shops to reward myself with some Tim Tam's. Double chocolate I think.

Just novels or are we including short fiction? I have quite a few of Twelfth Planet Press' anthologies to read and they're *all* Australian female writers. Might be a good excuse.

I have neglected this thread it seems!  Well done Weesam!  Those Tim Tams are well deserved.  You have got to be some kind of book eating robot from the future. 

I've just finished my second book in my Tim Tam level challenge.  I read Time Machines Repaired While you Wait by K. A. Bedford and quite enjoyed it: 3 1/2 stars from me.  I'll definitely read the sequel but I want to try another author for my next Aussie book.

I'm going to read Razorhurst by Justine Larbalestier next.  I've not read her so this book will cover my Down Under and WoGF which I'm way behind on.  Anybody read it?  Is there another JL book I should consider instead?

Location: Las Vegas, NV		I read (or rather listened to) Razorhurst and it was good. Listening to it read by the Australian voice actors really made it feel authentic, especially with lines like, "He mopped his brow in the sweltering January heat."

Location: Las Vegas, NV		I enjoyed the fact that the supernatural element to the story was there as a side dish instead of the main course, as it were. It was more about the characters than the ghosts themselves.
