So here's my update for the challenge.  I cruised through The Alloy of Law and Shadows of Self rather quickly via audio book -- combined they're about as long as one volume of the original trilogy.  Really enjoying them though perhaps not as much as the first 3 books.  These feel a little lighter like Sanderson was writing them just for fun rather than trying to create an epic.  I'm down with that though so it's all good.  The best part of the series is the Wax and Wane interplay and the narrator plays it up rather nicely.  I'm a few chapters into The Bands of Mourning now and should be done by week's end.

My co-worker is on book 2 now and we talk about it all the time which is a lot of fun.  Feels like we're back in high school "Dude, where you at now?  Oh!  That's a great scene!"
